Decades before Haiti got ravaged by the earthquake, author Stan Hovey began his mission there to promote tree planting and help uplift the nation to the best he could. His enduring mission is revealed at last to all readers with the release of his book,

 Church Activities
Habitat for Humanity
We will have our second Habitat Sunday on Sunday, September 12.  We'll worship at 11:00 a.m. (where your work clothes to worship!) and go right to the Habitat site.  If you would like to participate, contact me at this email.
Do you have a weed eater and 20 minutes?
About once or twice a month, we need a good samaritan to mow or weed eat the playground yard behind the church.  Walt can't get it with our current lawn tractor.  If you are willing and available, contact me at this email.

 Acolytes:
Are you in the fourth grade or higher?  We are now forming the schedule for acolytes.  We'll provide the training.  Acolytes generally serve every other month.  If you have not served as an acolyte before but would like to, contact me.  If you are a current acolyte and would like to be taken off the list, let me know; otherwise, all current acolytes will be added to the schedule.

 Lay Readers:
Would you like to read scripture on Sunday morning?  Training provided!  If you would like to be added to the list (or taken off) let me know, otherwise, all current lay readers will be kept on the schedule.

Nursery Workers:
Are you able to watch after some adorable children (ages 5 and under) once every other month during the worship hour?  All of our parents (including your pastor) of the young children are so grateful for this ministry.  If you would like to be added to the schedule or taken off the schedule let me know; all current nursery workers will be cheerfully kept!

Children's Church
Children are welcome in worship!
We have children's folders just inside the front doors to the sancturay in the narthex.
For chidren ages 5-10, we offer Church School, a special Sunday school and worship designed just for them!
Church School begins right after the "Moment of Teaching" in our 10:00 a.m. worship service.  Of course, all children are welcome to remain with their families during the entire worship.
United Methodist Committee on Relief,
has people on the ground in Haiti that will be coordinating and delivering aid.
We can support their work through their website.
