Vision Statement:
We understand God's vision is to embrace Christ's call to genuine (active) discipleship throughout our lives. It is learning how to live out our faith, both individually and in community, as the body of Christ. We believe God calls us to always be invitational and inclusive reflecting the love of God in Christ.
Growing as Christ’s disciples and offering God’s love to everyone.Where They Are is more than just a catchy slogan. It reminds us that God has called us to touch the lives of everyone in our daily walk. Urbanna United Methodist Church is about sharing the grace of God found in Jesus our Saviour to all people through Love, Outreach, Vision, and Education.
What We Believe: We believe in the grace and love of God as expressed through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. As a UM congregation we believe our faith is most clearly understood through the ancient creeds of the church. The Apostles Creed affirms our faith in this way:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal) church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
We believe it is through God’s prevenient, justifying and sanctifying grace that we become God’s own, are forgiven, and grow to more fully God’s particular people.

Ministries:
Urbanna UMC has a wonderfully rich tradition and also a keen desire to meet the current needs of the community. You will find we are an active community of faith with lots of opportunities for both adults and children to grow and serve.
Children:
Build a spiritual foundation that will carry them throughout their lives. Through activities such as Sunday Bible study, Vacation Bible School, choir, and missions organizations, we help introduce them to Jesus. Terrific Thursday Kids is the children's choir and meets every Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. The choir takes part in seasonal programs through out the year and sings in the morning worship service every third Sunday of the month during the school year.
Youth:
Are energized to carry out the Great Commission through monthly Youth Meetings, and small group meetings. Students leading Students gives young people opportunities to share with their peers, plan ministry events, and develop leadership skills. They also lead our worship service on Mother's and Father's Day. Youth members are also on our usher teams and lay reader teams.
Adults:
Have countless opportunities to minister to others as well as to grow in their relationship with Christ. Seasonal Bible studies provides in-depth discussion into God's Word and creates connections with others. New Comer classes provide practical helps for learning about our faith and church. Our United Methodist Men monthly men's breakfasts, on the second Sunday of each month, bring together men from throughout our community of faith. United Methodist Women is an orgainized community of women that focus on missions education and help meet ministry needs in our community.
Seniors:
Our Seniour are anything but in their rocking chairs, unless they are rocking babies in the nursery.
Transportation is available for those who need it.
